Shopify Website Design & Production

Shopify, built brand-first.

We've been building Shopify stores since 2007, when platform was barely a year old. What keeps us on Shopify is how clean a site can feel when the storefront is treated as part of the brand, not a separate thing. We build for specialty coffee roasters and direct-to-consumer brands that want their store to feel like the rest of their work: considered, specific, and unmistakably theirs.

What We Bring to Shopify

Brand-First

We start with discovery. Real conversations, honest research, a clear strategy. The designs that follow are modern and considered, built around your brand's personality and aesthetic. The most useful insight on a project rarely shows up in the brief. It comes from the people who run the business day to day.

Story & Personality

A Shopify store should look and sound like the brand selling it, not the platform underneath. We design how it looks and write what it says. Homepage, product pages, brew guides, FAQ, order confirmation emails. Visiting the site should feel like walking through your showroom or your cafe. Same atmosphere, same care, same voice in your ear.

Integrations

Custom subscription builders. Multi-audience site architectures. Product configurators. Integrations with fulfillment, ERP, accounting, and the apps you already use. When a project needs more than what the theme store offers, we build it. We've been writing custom Liquid since 2007 and custom Shopify 2.0 sections since they shipped.

Coffee Fluency

Specialty coffee has been our center of gravity for twenty years. Roasters, importers, equipment manufacturers, green coffee traders. We don't need to be educated on pricing, decaf processing, or the details that matter. From day one, we sound like we belong in the conversation.

Swiss Water® Process

We rebuilt Swiss Water's entire digital presence on a custom Shopify 2.0 theme. Two clear paths replaced one site that asked everyone the same questions: Drink Decaf for people exploring or buying roasted decaf, Source Decaf for the importers and roasters sourcing green coffee. Their team can publish new origins, partner spotlights, and campaign pages without a developer.

Specialty Coffee on Shopify

Most of our Shopify projects come from coffee. Roasters whose customers care as much about how a coffee is sourced as how it tastes. We're official Shopify Partners, and we've built sites for some of the most particular brands in the category. The voice carries from the homepage through the subscription flow and into the order confirmation email.

Our builds run on Shopify 2.0 with custom theme architectures, so your team can update content blocks, rearrange sections, and ship new pages on their own schedule. Less waiting on developers, more flexibility for marketing.

Needmore Designs was very perceptive with our brand and how to best have it communicated through the website. They are also a caring & fun team to work with.

Why Shopify?

Shopify launches fast, runs reliably, and ships with a polished checkout. Shopify 2.0 made it possible to build genuinely flexible sites without leaving the platform, and the app ecosystem covers most of what a growing DTC brand needs.

Where Shopify shines: brands that want a beautiful storefront and a best-in-class subscription offering. Most of the coffee work that lands in our inbox fits that profile.

Parlor Coffee

We developed a dynamic Shopify platform that blends striking visual design with advanced operational management tools. Featuring a custom subscription builder and robust fulfillment integrations, the site delivers seamless customer experiences while boosting operational efficiency. This is exactly the kind of specialty coffee web design we excel in.

Common Questions About Shopify Websites

How long does a Shopify build take?

Most of our Shopify builds run between eight and sixteen weeks, depending on scope. A theme-based refresh, where we customize a Shopify 2.0 theme to fit your brand, typically takes less time than a fully custom build, where we design every page from scratch.

Can you build on Shopify Plus?

We do. Plus makes sense when you need B2B features, multiple stores, scripts, or a custom checkout. For most coffee and DTC brands at the scale we usually work with, standard Shopify is the right answer. We'll help you figure out which.

Can I update the site myself after launch?

Yes. We build on Shopify 2.0 with custom theme architectures, so your team can add, edit, and rearrange content blocks without touching code. New origin? New campaign? New roaster partner? You’ve got this.

Do you handle the rest of the customer experience too?

Yes. Transactional emails, post-purchase emails, newsletter design, fulfillment integration, and the customer account experience. All of this is an important part of the brand experience.

Do you build accessible Shopify sites?

Yes. We build to WCAG 2.1 AA from the first wireframe. Color contrast, keyboard navigation, alt text, focus states, semantic markup. It's part of how we work, not a checklist at the end. We can also set up monthly accessibility scanning post-launch.

Why Shopify and not WooCommerce?

Shopify is the right answer when you want a beautiful storefront, a clean subscription product, and a simple hosted environment. A WooCommerce website is the right answer when you need deeply custom catalogs, full control, integrations beyond the app store, or fulfillment logic that doesn't fit Shopify's model. We build both, and we'll tell you which one fits.
