Waxing Nostalgic on Saint Cupcake

By Kandace Brigleb

in Studio Notes

When I close my eyes, I can imagine the taste of Saint Cupcake's mini coconut cupcake, that combination of creamy sweetness and coconut flakes. And then comes the flood of memories of many of my best moments here in Portland, the moments worthy of cupcake celebration. Saint Cupcake was present at our oldest daughter's first birthday, Needmore's grand opening in our first real office (we were oh so proud), many a friend's baby shower, a little buddy's birthday party in Laurelhurst Park, in Christmas care packages to loved ones far away, and on quite late nights, with me sneaking a bite of the last cupcake in the house while the family slept quietly.

You've likely seen the notices that the Saint Cupcakes are now closed. We will dearly miss them already, because the were more than a sweet treat; they were a small and delightful constant that helped us mark and celebrate the beautiful moments in our years. Thanks to Jami and her team for a tremendous eight years and for allowing us to play a part in your story. From Saint Cupcake, we're seen the power of nostalgic tastes and experiences to make a brand more than the sum of its parts. We are looking forward to seeing the next iteration that Jami and her team have been tinkering and dreaming of. It takes a tremendous amount of work and faith to start something anew. Here's to a new year and new traditions.
