Pozo Barbecue
By Kandace Brigleb
in Our Work
Pozo is a Southern BBQ restaurant in Qatar that is warm and inviting to expats and locals alike, infused with global and local culinary influences. Needmore was invited to craft a name, brand, and founding story.
Cooking Up a Brand
Our goal was to identify a name that is memorable yet malleable enough to both refer to a barbecue restaurant and allow for flexibility with bringing in local ingredients and flavors. Pozo is just such a name. Literally, “pit full of hot rocks” in the Mexican barbacoa style that has heavily influenced Texas barbecue, the name conjures up not only a sense of heat and energy, but also a blending of cultures to create something new and remarkable.
