Chizu's Crane Project

By Kandace Brigleb

in Our Work

Steve Jones, of Cheese Bar fame, has dreamed up an entirely new way to experience cheese in Portland. Chizu, his new spot downtown, will fuse traditional cheese tasting with an intimate Japanese sushi-bar ambiance. Moreover, he has an innovative idea for inviting you to join him on the adventure.

In keeping with the Japanese tradition of folding 1,000 origami cranes for luck, we are planning to hang 1,000 cranes in Chizu, and we’d love your help...We are asking for a $20 contribution for each crane, but in exchange we will give you a $20 gift certificate for Chizu, to be redeemed as soon as the doors open.
Chizu is scheduled to open in February of this year. Head over and get your crane, you've got all month (until January 31st). Aren't sure how to fold a crane? Check out these instructions, whipped up by illustrator Amy Ruppel.
