A Refresh for Tao of Tea

By Kandace Brigleb

in Our Work

Tao of Tea is a place that we have visited for many years, and so we are deeply honored to introduce you to their newly Needmore-designed website.

Their roots run deep in tradition, yet their ever-growing audience needed a modern, responsive website to explore Tao of Tea’s diverse offerings in a way that’s both simple and immersive. We worked to deliver on both the ease of ordering side and crafting a space that is as warm and inviting as their teahouse, which happens to be Portland's oldest.

A key focus of the redesign was reimagining Tao of Tea’s typography. By moving away from the longtime stand-in, Times New Roman, and embracing new fonts—Caslon for headings and Fillip for body copy—we worked to achieved a balance between time-honored charm and modern clarity. The result is a website that feels authentically Tao of Tea, yet perfectly suited for today’s online experience.
