Too Much Communication?

We recently subscribed to the magazine Communication Arts. Having an array of inspiration around is priceless. However, something has happened here. The steps are always the same:

  1. Buy magazine.
  2. Love magazine.
  3. Rip out subscription card, send in.
  4. Receive exactly the same issue the card came from as first issue.

Shouldn’t there be some mechanism by which magazine companies track their subscription cards?
