Zero-Based Thinking

Around the time when we were first getting Needmore Designs off the ground, I was listening to a lot of Brian Tracy. One idea of his that has stuck with me is what he calls zero-based thinking. The idea is that when you find yourself faced with an important decision, try going back to zero, forget everything up until that point. Forget what the current website looks like. Forget that you have ever worked for this client in the past. Forget the solutions you might have tried before.

Zero-based thinking lets you clear your mind, just for a moment, and get rid of the baggage that we all carry with us when making decisions. It has helped us to keep our company moving in a forward direction, and to keep thinking more about our future than our past.
