The Films of Ray and Charles Eames is a 6 DVD set of more than 75 films created by the designers during their 45 year career. They were created for various reasons – some commissioned by corporations, some for personal enjoyment, some for education.
I was surprised to stumble across this on Netflix; I had not even known they did films. Yet, watching them, I’ve recognized a few from grade school. Powers of Ten on the first disc is probably their most famous, the first disc includes that title, as well as an early proof-of-concept they created.
The films are an inspiring must-see, an entertaining glimpse into the minds of some of the 20th century’s greatest designers.
