One is <a href=\"http:\/\/amazon.com\/exec\/obidos\/redirect?link_code=ur2&amp;camp=1789&amp;tag=needmoredesig-20&amp;creative=9325&amp;path=tg\/detail\/-\/0967783038\">Trips &amp; Trails Oregon<\/a><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: none !important; margin: 0px !important;\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" data-src=\"http:\/\/assoc-amazon.com\/e\/ir?t=needmoredesig-20&amp;l=ur2&amp;o=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" border=\"0\" class=\"lazyload\" \/> by William L. Sullivan, the other is <a href=\"http:\/\/amazon.com\/exec\/obidos\/redirect?link_code=ur2&amp;camp=1789&amp;tag=needmoredesig-20&amp;creative=9325&amp;path=tg\/detail\/-\/078949647X\/\">Re-imagine!<\/a><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: none !important; margin: 0px !important;\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" data-src=\"http:\/\/assoc-amazon.com\/e\/ir?t=needmoredesig-20&amp;l=ur2&amp;o=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" border=\"0\" class=\"lazyload\" \/> by Tom Peters. In both cases, I was both attracted and unnerved by the design.<\/p>\n<p>Trips &amp; Trails Oregon is an amazing book, every page crammed with text, pictures, drawings, and even full-color (pink!) drop-shadows. It is obviously the passion of one person, who seemingly designed the book, took all the pictures, and wrote all the text. It really is an almost perfect book about traveling and hiking in Oregon, and once I stopped looking at the book as a graphic designer (and started looking at it as a \u201cuser\u201d), I was hooked. But don\u2019t even get me started on <a href=\"http:\/\/oregonhiking.com\/\">the author\u2019s website!<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Re-imagine is a different story. Mr. Peters obviously intends for the book to appear as shocking as the story he tells! For someone who has chosen a red exclamation point (\u201cPantone PMS 032!\u201d) as his company\u2019s logo, the book\u2019s design is not surprising.
