A new project has been quietly brewing here at Needmore: Unpacking Coffee, a video podcast. With over 2 billion cups of coffee consumed in the world every single day, there are thousands of small and large roasters out there roasting phenomenal coffee. We’re setting out to discover them all.
Unpacking Coffee is hosted by Ray and Kandace, the same duo that brought you the podcast The Job. This time we focus your attention on coffee, which makes sense because Ray is a Coffee Guy at heart, and that makes us a de facto coffee design studio. (Ray has been involved with eight coffee companies and was key in getting four off the ground, including Stumptown Coffee Roasters here in Portland). He also has a keen design eye and a bordering-on-obsessive love of coffee.
Kandace, on the other hand, comes from an anthropological angle and is focused on getting to the heart of the brand story. Sure, she might have started by drinking double-tall vanilla soy lattes… but those days are long gone.
Together, we are on a mission to share our mutual love of coffee and design. In our search for new coffees, we’ve uncovered a world of small and large roasters as well as spot-on design. The episodes are focused on a single roaster and pared down into bite-sized pieces, ideal for a quick viewing. Sometimes they’re even funny.
