Mac Amenities

You know, often when I’m visiting a client or friend who has a PC running Windows, I quickly get frustrated and run into little problem after little problem. A few weeks ago I was trying to help a client print out a web page, and realized Windows still doesn’t have a proper print preview, nor does it let you save a print-ready copy of anything, like Mac OS X does. On a Mac, I’ve gotten used to being able to drag a group of images onto the Preview icon, and have them all show up, nicely sorted in a sidebar, in a single window. The list goes on.

Unfortunately my frustration is often interpreted as being a little stuck up or Mac-centric. And if that’s true, it’s only because everything seems just a little harder in Windows. Sure, the sheer number of programs that will run on, or hardware that will work with a PC is much greater. But it’s just not worth it.

There’s something special about a Mac running OS X. It’s not the way it looks or something you notice right at first, but it sure grows on you. After years of using Windows, discovering Mac OS X sure does make using a computer fun again.
