Mac Tip: View man Pages in Safari

The term man page probably sounds strange to many, so this bears a bit of explanation. When one has their Terminal open and is hacking around a bit, one needs to know how to use the commands. There are literally thousands of commands available on your Mac, very powerful commands, all with a very obscure syntax. Generally, you can get information about a command by typing in man commandname. This is really helpful, but it interrupts your workflow, and the Terminal is admittedly not the best place to view documentation.

But Safari is! Just grab Bwana and install it in your /Applications/Utilities folder. Now, instead of typing in man command at the command line, type in man:command in Safari. Just like that, a beautiful man page you can keep open while you work.
