How Far the Halo?

The success of Apple Computer over the past couple of years has often been attributed to what is being called The Halo Effect, the theory being that the incredible popularity of the iPod has been slowly winning people over to The Apple Way, resulting in more consumers making their next computer purchase an Apple. Perhaps it is the design, simplicity, or appearance, but it has had a definite result on the bottom line.

We have also seen a great deal of nostalgia for the Clinton years lately, not to mention a number of eloquent speeches and public appearances by the much-maligned Al Gore. Who is, in fact, a member of the Apple Board of Directors since March 1999. Which begs the (slightly tongue-in-cheek) question: if by chance Mr. Gore were to run again in 2008, might this almighty halo effect not extend to the presidency?
