Never underestimate your site hosting. When we launched the redesigned Stumptown Coffee Roasters website last week, the response was good… but not as good as we’d hoped. Why? Because of the hosting. Over this past weekend, we moved the website to a hosting plan at A Small Orange and by all measures, it’s about five to ten times faster.
Did anything else about the site change? No, not a thing. But because the imagery is so incredibly important to the site’s experience, it feels completely different and a whole lot better. The lesson? Don’t skimp on the hosting to save a few bucks. The difference is priceless, especially on a media-rich site.
