This month, we are reinstating a classic Needmore tradition of posting a few stand-out First Thursday shows (most run from 6pm to 9pm tonight).
Museum of Contemporary Craft
The Museum of Contemporary Craft is putting on a silent auction to benefit those affected by Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines.
724 NW Davis St. – 5 to 8 pm
The museum is also in the midst of a show featuring four contemporary Alaska Native artists whose “works question institutional methods of identifying Native heritage, examine their own mixed-race identities, and challenge perceptions and stereotypes about indigenous peoples.”
Art and fashion join forces when when Physical Element “presents fashion looks that draw inspiration from modern artwork on display within the shop.”
416 NW 12th Avenue – doors 6 pm, presentation 7 pm
Timeshare Gallery‘s is showcasing the second installment of See What Eye, a “multi-sensory exhibition of shapes in their natural habitat.”
328 NW Broadway Apt 114 – 6:30 pm
Blue Sky Gallery
Blue Sky Gallery is showcasing a collection, Pacific NW Photography Viewing Drawers, which houses ten photographs each from a group of photographers.
122 NW 8th Avenue – 6 to 9 pm
Finally, Antler is curating a show at Hellion Gallery (just a few short blocks from our studio). The show looks to be a spirited mix of artists and collaborations. Also, the space is fabulous; Hellion has fast become one of our favorite gallery stops.
19 NW 5th Avenue, #208 – 6 pm
Before you head out, stop by our studio and we’ll pour you a shot. Your choice: whiskey or espresso.
70 NW Couch Street, Suite 405 – 5 to 6:30 pm
