Cheers to Elk Cove

One cannot begin to tell the story of Oregon Wine Country without talking about the Campbell family and Elk Cove Vineyards, a world-renowned winery quietly racking up awards for their hand crafted spirits and praise for their sustainable farming practices.

Elk Cove got their start in the foothills of the coastal mountain range in 1974 when there were less than 10 wineries in Oregon (compared to over 450 today). As the years passed, they slowly outgrew their original website.

Before

Boy, we couldn’t wait to throw ourselves into a study of Elk Cove (a tasting or two did the trick) and create a website worthy of the wines we’ve come to adore. We knew we needed to organize the information in a way that encouraged exploration, while making purchasing a snap. Plus, the new site would need to showcase Elk Cove’s stunning images on mobile (where were the large breathtaking photos of the vineyards, already?!)

We crafted a stunning, image-led introduction to the vastness of the Elk Cove experience. When you scroll down the page, you’ll see everything you need and a bit more. Even better for the Elk Cove team, all of the content on the homepage can be easily updated, so the material can grow and change with them.

The wines are showcased with a host of detailed information and it is easy peasy to access vintage, vineyard and winemaking information for each year. (The new site has clearly organized accolades, tasting notes, events, news, and so on.) Oh, but wait. There is more! Select another release year, review accolades, download tasting notes, read about mouth watering food pairing recommendations and of course, a prominent button to purchase available wines.

Not only is the site beautiful on a desktop, the unique mobile layout lets you navigate the site and find what you need with ease from your phone or iPad as well. What’s more, everything on the site looks picture perfect.

It has been our absolute pleasure getting to know the fine craftspeople making these beautiful wines. We do hope you enjoy the website we made for them and find a long, relaxing afternoon to head over and taste some wine.
