Driving Soundtrack

Learning to use the Prius has been fun. This model includes a GPS feature on the display, which allows you to set your own “points of interest” on the map, complete with icons. There’s little food icons, drink icons, athletic icons, symbols, and so on. You can even select a sound (one of three) to play when you drive past your own points of interest. Cool!

But then I got to thinking, what if Apple were building a system like this? They would probably give it the means to sync with iTunes, like my iPhone does. It would probably have CoverFlow to let you browse your music. And since my Mac lets me take any sound or song and make it into a ring tone, perhaps then my Prius could play one when I passed my points of interest.

Imagine that: you drive past your old High School, and Sister Christian plays in your car. You drive past the hospital, and Urgent comes on. You arrive home, and Back Home is on the radio. A moving soundtrack to your life, following you wherever you drive.

It sounds a bit crazy, but it would be fun!
