Will my logo look the same in print and online?

Print color reproduction remains fairly tricky online. The color of your logo and/or graphics may look slightly different on the web, as colors from a print piece cannot be effortlessly transferred to a computer screen. Color changes can be effected by the color palette chosen, the palette on your browser and your monitor calibration.

Color Palette - Web safe colors are available and will look the same across browsers, provided individuals correctly calibrate their monitors (see below). There are millions of colors that you can choose for print, but only 256 web-safe colors. Unless your logo was chosen with this in mind, you might consider creating a unique color palette for both your print and online identity.

Browser Colors - Browsers themselves make choices about how to display the colors represented in a website.

Monitors and Calibration - Many computers come with the ability to adjust the brightness and contrast on their display. Often, instead calibrating their monitors to correct color, individuals choose adjustments that fit their own aesthetic, which is subjective.
