Air Cover

I have fallen in love with my new MacBook Air. However, my search for a suitable laptop bag has been elusive. I have three primary focus points in this search and have yet to find a bag that meets all three criteria. The search is on for a MacBook Air bag that is (a) made using green/sustainable production techniques (including not being made of leather), (b) fashionable (which is of course subjective), and (c) designed to fit my MacBook Air precisely.

Hands-down, my absolute favorite bag in terms of look is the upcoming Aria from Orbino. The bag is sleek, attractive and made to fit the MacBook Air (although I question the overall usability, as I do not perceive room for anything but the computer). Alas, this bag’s aircraft grade aluminum is covered in leather. How’s about a vinyl option on this one?

A close second is the beautifully designed Arista. Love the shape and hand-stitching as well as the useful accessories pocket. Again with the perfect fit. Darned leather!

A bit closer to home, we have a number of beautifully designed wool bags by Queen Bee (for example, this Laptop Jetpack). Their bags are impeccably made (I have both a vinyl bag and wallet from them), crafted from recycled wool, and cute as a button. However, these bags are a one-size fits many creation that I am shying away from.

This is by no means an exhaustive list for bags and I haven’t completely ruled out the Queen Bee bag, as the lack of leather is a hard and fast rule for me. Have I missed any truly remarkable bags?

Thanks for the link, Daniel. Now that the AirMail is no longer sold out, I just may start turning my attention to a sleeve rather than bag.
